How far can I drive with a full battery?

That depends a lot on the conditions and the route you drive. Headwind, slopes, cold, the total weight of Ellio and his rider, and especially the average speed you drive, all have a negative effect on the range. That is why we recommend not looking at the range when comparing e-bikes but at the battery capacity, because it is objectively measurable. With Ellio's 1150 Wh battery, you can drive up to 150 km on a single charge. If you drive with a lot of assistance and at high speeds (45 km/h), your range will drop to 60-80 km. On top of that, if it's cold, you have a lot of headwind and a lot of hills on your course, the range can drop to 40-50 km. If you already own an E-bike today, you can easily determine how much range you will have with Ellio with the following formula: {range with Ellio} = {range with your current E-bike} x (1150Wh/ {battery capacity of your current E-bike})

How fast can the Ellio E-bike ride?

That depends on the model you choose. Like many other brands, Ellio offers a 25 km/h version (Essential) and a 45 km/h speed pedelec (Elite). In addition, Ellio is the very first manufacturer to also offer a 35 km/h variant (Enjoy). This is just as much a speed pedelec as far as regulations are concerned, but it can't go faster than 35 km/h.

Can I remove the Ellio battery and charge it elsewhere?

Yes! Ellio's battery can be unlocked with the same key as your ring lock, so you only need one key. Thanks to the large handle, the battery is easy to carry. The battery charging plug is on the outside and can be used with the battery both on and off the E-bike. So you can take out your battery and charge it elsewhere, but just as well just leave the battery on your Ellio to charge.

Can you go on a cycling holiday with the Ellio?

Ellio was primarily developed as a shuttle bike: highly efficient for higher speeds that you usually don't reach on a cycling vacation. However, Ellio can also go on a cycling vacation. The automatic switching and the comfortable sitting position are guaranteed to help you relax on vacation! The large battery, on the other hand, gives you peace of mind that you won't run out of power during your bike ride.

Why does Ellio have such small wheels?

We chose small wheels for a number of reasons. Chances are that you also have the wrong idea about the advantages and disadvantages of big and small wheels. Read all about it in our blog post about small wheels.

What is the difference between the sporty and the comfortable configuration?

The sporty configuration is equipped with a straight steering wheel and a low stem. This way, you can sit hunched over on your Ellio in a sporty position. The comfortable configuration features a curved steering wheel and a high stem, so you can sit up comfortably.

What maintenance does an Ellio require?

Ellio requires very little maintenance because only low-maintenance components were used. The belt drives and closed hubs are maintenance-free and you only need to clean with water now and then. However, never use a pressure washer as this can damage the seals! Once every 5000 km or twice a year, contact us to make an appointment for maintenance. You can bring in your Ellio for maintenance or we'll come to your home. We check the brake pads, belts and tires for wear and tear and read your Ellio software to check for any faults. We are also performing the latest software update.

Can I also lease Ellio?

This is possible, via a leasing partner that Ellio or its dealers works with. Today, you can already lease Ellio from Cyclis, B2Bike, KBC Bike Lease, O2O and a whole range of other bicycle leasing companies. Ask your Ellio salesperson or employer for more information about this.

How do you drive an Ellio?

Driving with an Ellio is very easy. We'll explain it in the video below.

Can I still ride when the Ellio battery runs out?

YES! To prevent you from coming to a standstill, Ellio automatically reduces its electrical assistance when the battery capacity drops below 20%. When the battery is almost completely empty, your Ellio only powers its necessary functions: the display and light will continue to work but you will no longer receive support. This way, you will always get to your destination.

Which baggage systems are compatible with Ellio?

Ellio's luggage carrier can carry 25 kg and is compatible with all current bike bag systems, such as Ortlieb and Vaude.

Are there different frame sizes available?

Ellio only comes in one frame size and two configurations (sport and comfort). In addition to the standard configurations, a lot is possible by adjusting the steering wheel and saddle. We would be happy to review these changes with you. View via this link the geometry by Ellio or book a test ride to see if the sitting position is right for you.

Can I place Ellio on a bike carrier?

Ellio weighs 38 kg with the battery and just over 30 kg without it. So you can easily transport one Ellio on an E-bike carrier. If you want to transport two Ellio's, make sure to check the maximum weight that your bike rack can carry and remove the batteries from the Ellio so you can carry them in the car. Your Ellio is completely waterproof without a battery, so no problem transporting it on your bike carrier.

Do I have to wear a helmet on Ellio?

That depends. A helmet is mandatory when riding a speed pedelec. The Ellio Elite and the 35 km/h Ellio Enjoy are speed pedelecs and therefore require you to wear a helmet. On Ellio's 25 km/h models — the Essential — you don't need to wear a helmet. However, this is highly recommended for your own safety.

What regulations does the 35 km/h Enjoy fall under?

The Ellio Enjoy is a speed pedelec that is limited to a maximum speed of 35 km/h. Like the 45 km/h Elite variant, it is therefore mandatory to wear a helmet and the Enjoy must be registered. So you also need a number plate. Furthermore, all regulations for speed pedelecs also apply to the Enjoy.

Do I have to take out insurance for my speed pedelec?

In Belgium, it is not mandatory to take out insurance for a speed pedelec, provided that the E-bike only offers electrical assistance when you also pedal yourself. This is the case with all Ellio models, so insurance is not mandatory for Ellio. Theft insurance is also not mandatory but is always recommended.

Experience. Enjoy. Ride Ellio.
